The new Cutera Titan gives you an all-natural option to enhance skin tone. Titan  uses light energy to heat the dermis deep beneath your skin's surface. Without surgery, recovery time, or injections, Titan is an ideal solution for your face, arms and abdomen. The Titan procedure is used to tone, lift and tighten skin on the face and neck. It treats lax and redundant skin throughout the body - including face, neck, abdomen, thighs and arms.

• How does the Titan work?

Titan utilizes a safe, infrared light to heat the dermis well below the skin's surface. This heating can cause immediate collagen contraction. During the procedure, the skin's surface (epidermis) is protected through continuous cooling with the Titan handpiece. After the procedure, new collagen growth results in further tightening and the developing of a more youthful complexion with less lines, folds or looseness of the skin.

Titan employs light energy because it provides a more uniform distribution of energy for heating the deep dermis.

• What areas respond best to the Titan procedure?

Patients have been successfully treated on many areas of the body where skin is lax. Loose skin along the jaw and neck respond well. Also treating the forehead causes the eyelids to lift. Loose skin on the abdomen, back of the upper arm also respond particularly well to the procedure.

• Who can be treated?

Since the Titan procedure is heating tissue under the skin's surface, patients of any skin type can be treated. Men and women of all ages have been successfully treated. We can advise you if the Titan is right for you.

• How many treatments will I need?

A single treatment has produced very good results for some patients. We usually recommend at least 2 treatments for superior results. We can advise you as to the number and frequency of treatments for optimal results.

• What happens after the treatments?

Immediately following the treatment, you may notice some redness and mild swelling in the treated area. Both should dissipate within a few hours.

• When will I see results?

Some patients see results immediately. However, for most patients, the results are gradual over a three to six month period as new collagen is formed and the skin tightens.

• What do treatments feel like?

With each Titan pulse, you will feel a brief heating sensation. Some patients are more comfortable taking a mild pain reliever beforehand, but most are comfortable without anything.
