Look years younger...without surgery

  • What is Radiesse?

Radiesse, formerly known as Radiance, is the first calcium hydroxylapatite injectable cohesive implant used for soft tissue augmentation. Over the last seven years, Radiesse has proven to be a safe and effective alternative for those patients wishing to avoid the potential side effects of bovine and solid implant materials. It is long lasting and does not require a skin test because it is the same mineral component found in our bones and teeth.

By supplementing your skin's own depleted collagen with Radiesse, we can smooth out wrinkles.  Radiesse is a safe, effective, time-tested, non-surgical wrinkle treatment that provides immediate results and lasts up to 2 years.

  • What areas of the face are normally treated with Radiesse?

Typical Radiesse treatments include: smoothing and contouring smile lines or nasolabial folds, wrinkles at the corner of the mouth (marionette lines), vertical lip lines and acne scars.

  • How long will the results last?

Most patients treated with Radiesse should look for a correction which last approximately 18 months to 2 years. Six weeks after the initial treatment a return visit is recommended. At that visit a touch-up injection is performed (only if needed) which will than extend the correction to 2 years plus.

  • What are Radiesse treatments like?

Radiesse treatments are performed in our office and take approximately 30 minutes. Radiesse is pre-loaded in syringes for use in treating and correcting your facial lines. First we apply a local anesthetic (usually a dental block). Then the Radiesse is injected into the wrinkle, though a tiny needle, and placed just under your skin. Unlike other fillers, Radiesse is not absorbed by your system. Therefore, we do not need to over-fill the wrinkle. The results are immediate and long lasting.

  • What can I expect after my treatment with Radiesse?

Patients are up and around immediately after receiving their Radiesse treatments. You can expect greatly improved wrinkles. Any discomfort following the procedure can be controlled with over-the-counter pain meds. The treatment site may have some swelling, which may last 24 to 48 hours. There may be some slight bruising at the injection site, which can be covered with make-up.

  • How safe is Radiesse and are there any complications to the treatment?

Radiesse has been injected in over 30,000 + patients worldwide without a report of reaction to the product. There have been minor complications reported by some patients receiving large volumes where some lumpiness or small nodules have occurred within several days of treatment. Complications of this nature have been normally resolved clinically within 30-60 days.
